HOUSE BOHEME WEDDING IN RUTHERFORDTON, NC

Kassidy and Max’s wedding day at House Boheme was an experience grounded in intention, guided by elements, and alive with meaning. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this wasn’t a wedding built around performance—it was one built around values.

The color palette was guided by chakras—each hue chosen with care, a reflection of balance and energy. It was inspired by the same mindfulness that Max brings to the mat as a yoga instructor. The linens were woven with Aztec patterns, a nod to the textures and culture of Mexico, where they’ve spent some of their favorite moments together. The invitation liner detailed with delicate watercolor mountains was a rendering of Devil’s Courthouse, the place where Max proposed.

Their meal, curated by Snap Pea, was a reflection of that same ethos: plant-based, sustainably sourced, and lovingly served. Every dish honored the land and the people gathered on it.

His father used to farm agave, the kind of work that requires patience, reverence, and an understanding that roots matter as much as blooms. Though his father is no longer here, he was in every little plant gifted to guests to take home. There were three chairs that were left empty at the back of the ceremony, and the light spilled over the pine trees and onto the three spaces, as if to remember Max’s dad, his sister, and Kassidy’s mother–all people that had left the earth early and were deeply missed on this day.

It’s hard to describe the kind of peace that settles over a day like this. A peace that comes when two people honor their story without spectacle. When a wedding becomes a mirror of who they are, not just what the world expects it to be.

This was a wedding that didn’t need to be loud to be heard.

It simply was—honest, intentional, and rooted in everything that matters most.
