Summer in Asheville is one of the hardest times of year to plan an engagement session. There are thunderstorms almost every day, and sometimes rolling the dice puts the odds in your favor, like getting a spectacular sunset or a rainbow for the engagement session. Other times, not so much.
We went back and forth on plans because the weather forecast was scattered. At the last minute, we changed locations because of the radar. As we hiked up the mountain, we heard thunder booming, and it kept crawling closer and closer to us. At the same time, we saw blue skies and sun, so it make it hard to predict what the weather was going to do.
After a cloudy start, we were hit with some rain that turned into fog. Then, we saw an enormous rainbow that took over the entire sky. The rainbow hung around for at least an hour! It was unbelievable. Just before sunset, the sun peeked out from the clouds, and we ended with some spectacular light.
It was one of those sessions when you feel like you’ve won the jackpot–not only for the weather but also for the lovely couple that spent the evening with me.
